Inspiration Of The Day: Mixing Patterns

Hello!
It is impossible that you have missed the mixing patterns hype. Anything is possible - you can combine whatever you like. We decided to make our own phone case, continue reading if you are interested.

One of us got a new phone today. Because we didn't have the ability to buy a phone case yet, we decided to make our own case. Using the mixing patterns hype, we created our own phone case.  We did not have many awesome fabrics available (like an aztec print or cool summer colours), but we still wanted to share this tip with you.

The only things you need, are a strong glue (it would be best to use textile glue), scissors and some awesome fabrics. You can sew if you don't like glueing your phone case, but we wanted to keep it simple. If you sew your phone case, it can give an extra 'DIY-touch' to your phone case, which could be extra awesome if you decorate the phone case with a cute pattern.

The first thing you need to do, is make a base. You will have to draw the outlines of your phone on a piece of fabric, leaving 0.5cm on the sides. Do this on two pieces of fabric, and cut out the outlines. When you did this, grab your glue and glue the pieces together. Only apply glue to the outer lines of the two pieces of fabric.
Once you have done this, let your case dry for about 10 minutes, or otherwise when the glue says something different. Once the waiting time is over, turn the case inside out. Your base is ready, now the fun can begin!

You can glue anything you like to the phone case. You can create your own patterns, or combine some awesome patterns. If you are looking for inspiration, we have a compilation of awesome patterns you could use/recreate listed down below.
