Why Grapefruitfriday?

Hello everybody!
The question which we get asked so many, many times, is where our name comes from. Do we like grapefruits? Do we like fridays? Is it spontaneous? Does it stand for something unknown? Read on if you'd like to know where our name comes from!




To be honest, our name is not something really special. Our name is not deep and our name is not meaningful. I will tell you the story. Some time ago, more than half a year ago, we were at McDonalds. We were rather bored and we were thinking of what we should do. We had a lot of creative ideas which we'd like to make into videos, or photographs, or whatever - the only thing we knew is that we wanted to do something creative and that we wanted to do it together. My (the one who is typing this) passion is photography and filming, so we thought we might as well use that and that is when we decided we wanted to start making YouTube videos. We planned on creating a channel when we got home, but our last issue was the name. What should the name be? Should we combine our names, should we call ourselves 'DIYchannel' or something else? We did not know. We did know that we wanted to post a new video every week, and that we wanted a name that sounded good. We like fruit, and 'grapefruit' sounded well with 'friday', our free day. That is the reason why we are Grapefruitfriday! We actually really hate grapefruits. We think that they are too sour, which is really weird, but it's a funny fact. At least, I think it's funny.
